Everybody buys, sells, strolls around or simply leans against a wall and has a slow, pensive cigarette. The vegetable sellers sing and push tiny shiny aubergines, ladies in long dresses waltz past amidst the chatter and the flavour of spices and coffee and fresh bread.
Young men walk by arm in arm carried by small gusts of laughter.
Older ones pause for an argylla and a game of backgammon. Stray cats slither by overflowing bins.
